We apply building science and machine learning to model the most important features that contribute to carbon emissions. Our platform turns data into retrofit strategies for commercial real estate’s zero-carbon future.
We are seeking a Data Platform Lead who thrives in a space of constant change and problem solving. Reporting to the Director of Technology, you’ll play a pivotal role in building our next generation SaaS platform that will deliver ground-breaking carbon intelligence to the entire planet. You will be instrumental in the development of others, so being a passionate leader will help you get the most out of your team. We understand leadership is always evolving, and we are committed to helping you develop within that space. This role is best suited for a generalist who is unattached to a particular platform, or tool, and is comfortable working in many aspects of technology stacks and cloud systems.
What you’ll do:
● Build, lead and work alongside a small, customer-focused team to rapidly incorporate internal and external customer needs into small, incremental deliverables
● Lead Data Architecture, Warehousing, Modeling and Engineering efforts
● Be a self-starter, reporting progress, risks, needs and opportunities without prompting
● Work closely with diverse stakeholders to deliver and spearhead emergent value to the organization
● Advocate for industry best practices and help to train and mentor other team members
● Evolve the organization by identifying risks and opportunities and taking initiative to find solutions proactively
● Take advantage of learning opportunities to keep your skills current, then share this
knowledge with stakeholders and other engineers.
● Develop expertise in a technology or system that is unique in the organization.

What you bring:
Experience - You are likely a Senior Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer who loves to coach and mentor others to success, while staying close to the modeling and taking tactical ownership of delivery. You will have expertise in commercial data modeling, and will have developed mature, functional data ecosystems in the past. Your tech stack is deep, and will work well with AWS or GCP. You have a keen eye for seeing the bigger picture and looking ahead to navigate potential risks and proactively solve for them.
